before continuing on to Glasgow in Scotland on the 27th of July.

From there we will drive across to Crail on the East coast, where we will live for the next 11 weeks.

On the 18th of October we will drive down to London over a week,
London |
flying out of Heathrow Airport on October 30th, arriving back home (108 days after setting out) on November the 2nd.
I will be keeping this blog throughout my trip to let all my friends at Edendale primary school know what I am doing and share in the adventure. I will miss them all very much, so I hope that by writing this blog for them they will all accompany me on the journey.
Sounds like a great trip. I'm glad I'm coming too!

We'll be coming along too after a while. We're looking forward to seeing you all and staying in your beautiful Scottish village.
ReplyDeleteHi Maddy and Harry (and Mummy and Daddy)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great trip! We enjoyed looking at the maps to see where you are going. It is really cold and raining here so we are looking forward to our trip to Vanuatu in September
Hi there to Madeleine and Harry. Mummy phoned this morning to say that you had arrived in Scotland and were at your new house in Crail. She said it was very hot in Dubai, so you'll like the cooler weather in Crail. Nicky and Lewis are in London and will be coming to Scotland soon to see you, with Anne and Peter. And it won't be very long before we get on our plane and come to see you too.

Hi Madeleine, wow that flying fox looks great I want to have a go. The funny penguins made me laugh. Hope your having a fun time (it sure looks like you are).
ReplyDeleteWe had a fairy come to daycare yesterday and it was Fairy Rainbow. She had a beautiful book and she had rainbow music and she had magical unicorn with purple on it. The fairy's dress was green and she lives in a rainbow. She had rainbows on her and she sang beautiful songs it was really cool.
Buy Madeline, we will write again soon.

Candy and Duncan arrived back in Auckland today. We've been visiting Madeleine (and Harry, Amy, and Cameron) in Crail for two weeks and we had a marvellous time in this wonderful and beautiful village. The summer in Scotland may not be very hot, but it's hotter than today's winter day in Auckland! We especially liked your new school and how nice you look in your school uniform. Maybe Edendale will get the idea?
ReplyDeleteI really like the photo of my fireworks birthday cake - better than putting 71 candles on a cake. Even you couldn't blow them all out! Best wishes from us and from Sophie, Catriona, and Leo, who still hasn't figured out where you've gone. Love from Duncan and Candy.
This week we got the prints of some of the photos I took of Crail. They came out very well and reminded us how much we loved the place. Nice to see your photos of the harvest in the fields and to hear about all the interesting things you did and saw at the beach. Isn't it nice that you can walk down the road, then climb down the path and you're right on your own beach?
ReplyDeleteI've got lots of other photos to load on to my computer so we'll see how they turn out.
And did you know that while we were staying with Peter and Anne in London that we went to one of the Queen's other houses at a place called Sandringham? Very nice - much better than the Sandringham we live in.
Love to everyone
Duncan and Candy
I've been sitting at home in Auckland watching golf on TV. They were playing at the Kingsbarns course, which is only 5 miles from where you are, and it brought back many memories of what a lovely part of the world you and Harry are living in at the moment. Isn't this wonderful? The weather looked very nice and all the people watching the golf were in summer clothes. But last night the TV showed the golf games at the great golf course in St Andrews and everyone was under umbrellas, so it looks like you're going to have a wet weekend. Just like us in Auckland.
