Week Eleven

October 8 Last day of school

Yesterday it was my last day of school. We got to wear our normal clothes. There was a cake store. I got a chocolate muffin and a brown Teddy bear. At the end of the day I gave everyone a lollipop. Mrs Anderson gave me two books and gave Harry one. The class signed a card for me. I felt sad.

 October 13 Next Week

Next week we are driving down to London. We will be spending 2 nights in York, 1 in Porthmadog, and 1 in Ely on the way. We will also visit a number of castles in Wales, Portmeiron, Ironbridge, Startford on Avon, and Cambridge. In London we will watch the world Cup final with Mike's brother Matt, and stay with Mummy's Uncle Peter and Aunty Anne.

Week Ten

October 1 Playdate

Last Wednesday Katie came around to our house. First we opened our pink hello kitty magazines. Then we played Polly Pockets. Next we played horses. Then we had delicious pizza fingers. We went to the orchard. We were looking for rabbits but we saw two monarch butterflies. Last of all we watched Beauty and the Beast.

Weeks Eight and Nine

September 17 Ruby's Birthday

Today I went to Ruby's birthday party. First we went upstairs to play with Ruby's ipod. Next we went to watch the bee movie. Then we played ten party games. My favourite was pass the parcel. After that we had chocolate chip cookies, banana muffins and lemon cake. Ruby's dog Guddle had a red balloon tied to her collar.

September 24 Brownies and Scottish Dancing

Last Monday I did Brownies and Scottish dancing. At dancing we dance with a partner. We mainly use our feet, not the other parts of our body. For Daisy Doe we use our hands and feet and we go in circles with our partner. My favourite dance is the piroette. After dinner I walked to the Brownies hall with lovely mummy. We did heaps of art about cats. First we had to colour in a cat with no tail. Then we had to plait the tail blue, yellow and pink. We decorated a plate with a cat scene. Last we toasted marshmellows by a flame.

Week Seven

September 10 Rufus' Birthday

Today I went to Rufus' birthday party. I dressed up as Princess Belle. We got face paints and tattoos. Mine were a tuatara, an alligator and a dragon fighting, two roses and a flower on a vine. My face paint was a red rose with sparkles on. The cake was amazing, it was a dragon. We played heaps and heaps of party games.

September 11 Harry's life in Scotland

Harry goes to nursery 4 mornings a week. Harry really likes his nursery. His friend is Stuart. At morning tea when we go out to play we can wave to him. Harry really enjoys going to the beach because he likes having lunch and building sandcastles. He enjoys going swimming in St Andrews - his favourite thing to do is jumping off the wall. Harry loves watching Mr Men on TV. Harry absolutely loves going on the top of a double-decker bus and he shouts out "Mummy there's a cow over there!" After school Harry loves going to the park. Once we bounced him off the seasaw.

Week Six

September 3 Dear Room 11

Hi Room 11 and Mr Bell. What have you been learning in class this week? We've been painting and drawing oats and barley because it's the end of summer and it's harvesting time.

At Crail school we have no grass in the playground. After morning tea we always have milk and juice. For lunch we eat in the lunch room and to order we can get chips, fish, pizza, soup and mushy peas.

September 4 Picnic at the beach

Today we went to have a picnic at the beach and it was yummy. We made corn muffins and we took them down. We also ate an apple, a nectarine, a yellow plum and chips. Harry and I went climbing on the rocks and we saw heaps of rock pools with fluffy seaweed. After that Harry and I went down by the sea and saw an orange and yellow starfish. Then I helped Harry make a home with a swamp around it. I made one too. We put shells on the top to make them look pretty. Then Harry and I began to sing by the water.

Week Five

August 24 Cool Candle

On Wednesday my family and me went to the Craigrothie restaurant for Duncan's birthday party. I drank refreshing apple juice and to eat I had soup, salmon and chips. After dinner the lady brought an amazing firework candle! It was for Duncan's birthday. After that we all sang happy birthday. Harry and I got chocolate ice-cream with a chocolate flower in it.

August 28 Drama Class

Three days ago I did drama with Miss Taylor. The queen was in a bad mood and we had to go and get the ripest apple, a chameleon's skin and a giant's whisker to mix up in a pot and give it to her for a drink. The queen really liked it and then she gave us lots of toys to play with in the sprinkler in her garden. I think drama is really cool!

 August 19 My School

Last week I started school. The school is called Crail Primary School and my classroom's number is 2. My teacher's name is Mrs Anderson and my principal's name is Miss Jess. My friend's names are Katie, Sophie, Lauren and Emma. I like doing gym, drama and maths games. We only have 4 classrooms at our school.

August 21 The Zoo

Yesterday I drove a long way to Edinburgh zoo. First we went and saw 50 million penguins and some were really funny because they had yellow hair on their heads. Next we saw the HUGE black and white tapirs. Then we saw 2 browny-black sun bears. After that we saw 2 jaguars. One of them was climbing up and down rocks and it was black. The other one was orange and spotty and it came up very close to us and walked side to side like it was putting on a show. I loved going to the zoo so much!

Week Three

 August 9 St Andrews

Yesterday we went to St Andrews. To get there we went on a double-decker bus. When we arrived we went to the fair. First Harry and I got a lolly bracelet. Next we rode the merry-go-round. I rode on a blue and red princess carriage and Harry went on Thomas, who is blue. Then we came to the library and had lunch.

August 11 Our village

My village is called Crail. My favourite place to go in Crail is the cafe with a big sand statue by it. I like my village because it's got beautiful flowers. My village is way tinier than Auckland. There's a beach, one school, three food stores and one cafe. It's Scotland's summer and it's rainier than New Zealand's winter!

August 13 Pittenweem Art Festival

Today we went to the art festival. We walked around the whole of the whole of Pittenweem looking at the pictures. My favourite picture was the one with the city that had rainbow colours on it. After that we went to the Cocoa tree - it is a cafe. I got a pancake and a really yummy hot chocolate!

August 15 Last Night

Last night it was my Grandma's birthday party. First we had yummy Lasagne - it was nice and crispy. Next we had a chocolate sponge delicious cake. Then I made a party game. It was called "stick your face on the person". Harry won: he won a picture of a cat and a whole packet of mentos. It was exciting.
